Associate Director, Media Planning

Growing agency based in Philadelphia suburbs is searching for an Associate Director or Director of Media Planning (based upon experience).  Media Director will be responsible for leading a team responsible for planning, buying and managing media plans that translates clients’ marketing and advertising objectives into strategic, cross-platform media campaigns. In addition, the Media Director will work directly with clients and internal stake holders to develop and execute plans that are consistent with approved strategies, KPIs, and budgets and assist in the management of workload across a range of accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for leading a team of Media Planners across multiple clients and disease states – HCP, DTC, OTC
* Collaborates with the VP of Media Planning to proactively shape and evolve Media strategy across clients to meet their changing needs
* Will collaborate with VP of Media Planning to pitch new business and onboard new clients
* Responsible for attracting, developing, and mentoring junior media staff
* Responsible for identifying emerging media tactics and strategies that benefit our client base
* Works with leaders to oversee media objectives, strategies, and tactics for cross-channel media campaigns
* Understands all elements of the planning cycle and clearly communicates stages to internal teams and clients
* Oversees the development, presentation and execution of small to mid-sized media plans using research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, industry experience, and best practices
* Assists in the management of media-related client issues based on changes in direction, goals and budgets; is aware of the need to create solutions and resolve problems
* Assists in the buying, negotiation and ordering process for television, cable, radio, digital, OOH and other channels as client plans dictate
* Manages creative asset trafficking process with Account teams and media vendors
* Monitors performance of digital media campaigns and assists in the development of analysis of results for clients
* Manages billing and invoice reconciliation
* Cultivates excellent relationships with sales community
* Maintains thorough, up-to-date knowledge of media trends as well as client’s business/competitive landscape
* Plans creatively and seeks out new media opportunities

REQUIREMENTS:
* Must have 5+ years media planning experience in a media agency – Pharma experience preferred
* At least 2 years experience managing at least 2 direct reports
* Focus on digital media planning, flow chart creation and stewardship, vendor outreach
* Experience working in an integrated fashion with Account and Creative teams
* Experience planning paid social and/or traditional media platforms a bonus, but not required (Tv, print, radio, etc)
* Knowledge and understanding of managing multiple clients within MediaOcean preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft office suite, with particularly strong excel skills
* Experience with programmatic media buying a plus
* Must be resourceful, demonstrate strong attention to detail, follow-through skills and the ability to work independently
* 4 Year Bachelor Degree or relevant experience
